Frank Murtagh Principal

Skills & Expertise

Frank Murtagh specialises in Strategic Planning, particularly as it relates to statutory agencies, Small Business, Voluntary, Community Social and Economic Regeneration Groups and organisations involved in project design and set-up. Central to the Practice’s mission is its value base in working with groups to conceive, develop and implement the project and plan, particularly for those clients who do not have the in-house resources and skills, or who are in the preparatory stages of planning and development. The strategy combines Frank Murtagh’s academic background in Economics and Marketing, with many years of experience in senior management positions in both small and large companies.

He has been a private consultant since 1989 and while he has considerable experience working with small and medium-sized organisations, he has wide experience in applying these skills to the statutory, community and voluntary sectors in which he has been active since 1992. He prepared a number of strategic development strategies and assignments for groups in the Community Social and Economic Regeneration field, both urban and rural, throughout Ireland including inner city Dublin and the South East and has worked closely with Health and Social Services Trusts and Boards on a range of projects.

Frank Murtagh is also an active volunteer with a number of organisations. As well as being a founder and current Board member of the North City Business Centre, an enterprise agency in North Belfast, and a founder member of the Ashton Development Centre Ltd., both economic regeneration bodies, he sits on the Industrial Relations and Fair Employment Tribunals as a panel member and was active within the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, of which he is a past N. Ireland Branch Chairperson. He was also a Director of Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT), a key provider of loan finance and support to the community economic sector in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of the Republic of Ireland.
